We were delighted to host our Scones Workshop and Afternoon Tea experience, at The Hill of O'Neill and Ranfurly Housein Dungannon. A group of all ages joined us for an afternoon of baking, and enjoying delicious food with family and friends.
On arrival, participants enjoyed a glass of fizz before being split into pairs to take part in our facilitated workshop. This consisted of a step by step demonstration led by Hannah, in the preparation of one of our nations favourites - the humble scone. Participants followed each of the illustrated steps in creating their dough. They then had the opportunity to 'make it their own' by visiting our flavour station, before cutting the dough into rounds for the oven.
While the scones were baking in the oven, participants were invited to enjoy an Afternoon Tea prepared by Memory Makers. This consisted of a selection of sandwiches, savoury and sweet treats. It was wonderful to hear all of the buzz in the room, while participants worked their way through each of the tiers of delicious treats.
So that important question, is it cream or jam first?
I definitely am a jam first kind of girl. Whatever your preference, I am sure you will agree that there is no better taste of home baking. Each of our participants left the workshop with their baked goods to enjoy at home or share with family and friends.
Baking is not about being the best or most perfect cook, but rather it is about sharing the table with family and friends. At Memory Makers we couldn't agree more!
